I've ordered a sewing machine. I already have plans to turn an unused black skirt into a shirt, some scrap pieces of fabric into a different shirt, and some curtains into a dress.
Oh but seriously, how utterly, utterly great would it be to be the person who actually ripped the curtains down and made a dress out of them? The mind thrills. I hope I do it. If so, I plan to actually tear the curtains dramatically from the wall (after securing that all pets are safely tucked away from possible flying curtain rod detritus) and scream like Joan Crawford. Assuming that's the kind of stuff she did. I actually have no idea.
Hey look, bagels.
NEW YORK AREA LIVEJOURNAL FRIENDS: On Sunday, I will be busking in Union Square on behalf of Supersnack with members of Supersnack, provided it does not rain like a bastard. You should stop by and say hello to us. fishmonger19 will be there, and so will gleep_glop, truckface, and MAYBE EVEN joshacid. |
What's that about limericks?
I don't know, but I think each line is supposed to have 34 syllables. That's how limericks work. Also, nothing needs to rhyme, so don't worry about that, either.
You mean, like in Sound of Music?
How *do* you solve a problem like Maria? I guess you'll just have to climb every mountain to find out, which seems like a lot of climbing for one problematic nun.
Is that what happens in The Sound of Music? Weird. I always thought it was about Nazis.
It's about the Nazi's love of making clothes from curtains.

I always suspected this about Angela. And it explains why she's always trying to get me to wear that funny star thing. Girl Scout merit badge for astronomy my ass. I'm on to you, Hamilton!

Now that I am entering this new crafty girl sewy-domesticky phase, I am totally driven to embroider "Girl Scout merit badge for astronomy my ass," on a shirt or maybe a nice set of hand towels.

Carol Burnett did a take-off on Gone with the Wind, including the scene where Vivian Leigh has a dress made from the curtains. She comes out wearing a gorgeous creation, complete with the rod across her shoulders. The Rhett Butler character compliments her on it, and she says, "I saw it in the window and I just couldn't resist it."
Just promise me you'll only use the sewing machine to sew fabrics.
Speaking of bagels...
GO TO THE BAGEL SHOP (which is actually what it's called) off the Graham Ave stop on the L train. IT IS SO GOOD.
OH! I will soooo be there...which change...and maybe some bills...and most likely an umbrella.
Though, probably not an umbrella. I'm not that smart about those things.
At this performance of The Sound of Music, the role of Maria will be played by Joan Crawford.
Frightening really.
And the role of Captain Von Trapp will be played by Carol Channing.
We haven't heard from you... You must be sewing new drapes and new dresses and new table runners and embroidered pillows for each pet with their name on it and making shirts for Zack and...well, you get the idea.
