Links. One for you and one for me. Click on them both and nobody gets hurt.
Link #1. Seeing stuff like this review of Strange Fire always makes me swell with (unearned) pride. I think it's because I feel like I GET IT, I REALLY GET IT.
Key Quote: "If I had to guess who people will still be listening to in 50 years, I would pick these original artists over those that follow trends."
Link #2. If you haven't read Lindy West's brilliant piece The Different Kinds of People That There Are yet, well my friend, I demand you drop everything immediately and remedy the situation.
Key Quote: "Russian Wizards. Don't be ridiculous."
Link #3. OKAY, THERE'S NO LINK TO SHOW YOU FOR THIS, BUT HEY GUESS WHAT. IT IS CURRENTLY SNOWING AND IT IS APRIL. NO THANK YOU.
Key Quote: "SERIOUSLY, I AM WEARING BALLET FLATS TODAY. THE WEATHER IS A TOTAL JERK." |
Speaking of #1... guess who we're seeing in LESS THAN A WEEK?
Wheee! Although it's really two days for my crazy ass since I'm making the sojourn to Philly too :)
You and your crazy, crazy ass. ;)
Have fun in Philly! And you know, don't be afraid to concert call... if the mood strikes you....
Second Time Around? Sugar Tongue? Or shall I simply surprise you? ;)
How about Any Amy Song From The New Album?
(Or, like, Touch Me Fall. SEE HOW I MAKE JOKES.)
Heee. If they ever did play Touch Me Fall I'd probably be too busy wiping myself up off the floor to dial a phone.
I'm hoping that I get to hear all the new album songs in the four shows... fingers crossed!
I am hoping the same thing! Except maybe Driver Education. I just like it so much more as a solo.
I agree. But thinking about Amy solo reminds me: Julie.
JULIIIIIIEEEEE!
(Are you a Girlyman fan? I forget.)
Also, we should talk money at some point. You got the car, I got the tix, and one of us owes money, but I can't remember if it's you or me. :)
I am not a Girlyman fan but I probably should be! And cash, yes.... The total estimate for both cars is $200.68, so a three-way split of that is $66.89. So I believe I probably owe you a little more than that for the tickets.
Yes, you should be! If for no other reason than TY IS HOT (and reminds me a little bit of a younger Julie, if Julie played bongos).
Cool, all right! The tix came to $90.10 each, so whatever the difference between those two is. Yay math.
IOU $23.21. Yay math, indeed.
IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME THAT PENNY, I WILL SUE YOUR ASS!!!11!!!
Okay, so dude, this literally just happened: I just went to Hale and Hearty for lunch and guess what started playing while I was in line.
You never will guess in a million years so I'll just tell you: "We Are Together." What? What? Come again?? Bizarre. Who knew that was getting play... anywhere.
I HEARD THAT ONCE IN A KOHL'S! I didn't even know that was a single! And what a fucking random song choice. Still! That's pretty awesome.
If only there'd been something awesome playing at Subway.
